Project Spotlight

(USNA) in Annapolis
Ward Hall at the U.S. Naval Academy required a data center upgrade due to an aging building and increased IT demands. The project involved two phases: implementing the geothermal chilled water loop and installing the chiller and cooling equipment in the data center. Our company, General & Mechanical Services, overcame challenges by utilizing the geothermal field’s heat for domestic purposes. The result is a cutting-edge cooling infrastructure ensuring 20 years of reliable service.
GDIT Data Center
GDIT engaged our company, General & Mechanical Services, for a comprehensive upgrade to its Fairfax, VA data center. GMS efficiently implemented a new power and cooling solution, overcoming structural challenges and ensuring minimal downtime. The integration included APC In-Row cooling units for added redundancy, scalability, and energy efficiency, leading to substantial cost savings.
